Pedro Fierro is Professor of Public Policy and Leadership at the School of Government and the Business School of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, where he also serves as Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Leadership (CIL UAI). He is an adjunct researcher at the Millennium Nucleus for the Study of Politics, Public Opinion, and Media in Chile (MEPOP) and a researcher at Fundación P!ensa, where he leads the public opinion area. His work examines political geography, digital life, and the democratic consequences of territorial inequalities — with particular attention to their implications for public policy design and the exercise of leadership in contexts of social and political fragmentation. He has published in leading academic journals including the “Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society”, “New Media & Society”, “Territory, Politics, Governance”, “Information, Communication & Society”, among others. He is co-author of Abandoned Places in the Digital Era, published by Springer Nature and subsequently translated into German by Springer Gabler. He regularly presents his research at international conferences such as ECPR, ERSA, and WAPOR, and his work frequently contributes to public debate through opinion columns, interviews, and analysis in various media outlets. Pedro has been awarded competitive research funding (ANID) and is an active participant in national and international academic networks. He has been a Miguel-Dols Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a visiting researcher at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He holds degrees in Social Sciences and Legal Sciences from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, completed his Master’s and PhD at the Universidad de Navarra, and his postdoctoral fellowship at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
